Coined to be the "The Corvette to Covet" options exclusive to the Collector Edition are Silver Beige Metallic Paint, Pinstripe and Fading Shadow, Bronze Color and Solar Screen T-Tops, Rear Window Defrost, Power Antenna, Special Wheels and Hubs, and a Newly Designed Fully Lifting Framed Hatchback. This all wraps around a matching Silver Beige Metallic Leather interior with multi-tone leather seats and door trim. The upgraded carpeting throughout and the theme colored, hand-sewn leather wrapped steering wheel and leather covered horn button which is surmounted by a cloisonne' emblem is also exclusive to the Collector Edition. These features are framed by the deeply muted dark beige console and instrument cluster trim plates. To ensure the uniqueness each one built displays special vehicle identification to prevent it from ever being "cloned". Production was limited to just 6,759 vehicles and was the first time in Corvette history the base price exceeded $20,000.00.
